This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit lifeisagamemagazine.com. We’ve tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese. The short version: we run a small magazine, we’re not in the data business, and we collect as little as we can get away with.

What we collect
Comments. If you leave a comment, we store the name and email address you enter, your comment, and your IP address. The email isn’t published. We use it to spot spam and, occasionally, to reply to you. Comments are held for approval before appearing.
Contact form. If you write to us, we receive whatever you put in the form. We keep those messages so we can reply and refer back to them. We don’t add you to anything.
Server logs. Our host records standard technical information about visits — IP address, browser type, pages requested, times. This happens automatically on essentially every website and is used to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you can opt to save your name and email in a cookie so you don’t retype them next time. That’s your choice and it lasts a year. If you log in — which only our writers do — we set cookies to keep you logged in and remember screen preferences.
Embedded content
Articles sometimes include content from other sites — a YouTube video, an embedded post. Those behave exactly as if you had visited the other site directly: they can collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with them. We don’t control that, and their privacy policies apply, not ours.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We don’t sell, rent, or trade your information. Necessary exceptions: our web host stores the site and its data on their servers, our spam filter checks comments, and we’d comply with a valid legal request if we ever received one.
How long we keep it
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so conversations under old articles stay intact. Contact form messages are kept while they’re still useful and deleted periodically after that.
Your rights
You can ask us to send you a copy of anything we hold about you, or to delete it. Email lifeisagame.business@gmail.com and we’ll do it. There’s no form and no process — it’s a small site and you’ll be talking to a person.
If you’re in the UK or EU, you have these rights under GDPR. If you’re in California, you have similar rights under CCPA. We apply them to everyone regardless of where you live, because maintaining two standards would be more work than just doing the better one.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS across the site, keep WordPress and its plugins updated, and limit who has an account. No website can promise perfect security, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
