The RE1 Remake is Reportedly in Full Production

According to recent leaks from the same sources that tipped the Ada Wong DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, a full remake of the original Resident Evil is officially in development. While the game reportedly entered pre-production around 2022-2023, it has now moved into full production. This marks a massive return to the roots of the franchise with modern tech.

It has raised a lot of both positive and negative reactions on social media, with some people claiming the 2002 remake does not need touching while others are excited at the possibility of a RE engine remake of the classic title. At this point it seems inevitable that most, if not all, of the series will be remade within the unified RE engine.

Leon Kennedy’s "Secret" Marriage

In a series of recent interviews with Eurogamer, Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi has dropped several bombshells regarding Leon S. Kennedy’s personal life. Nakanishi confirmed that Leon is officially married and now has a "place to go home to." When pressed on the identity of the spouse, the director played coy, stating that "the answer will become clear some day."

Speculation is already spiraling, with fan favorites like Ada Wong, Claire Redfield, and even Ashley Graham being the primary suspects. Hopefully this is one answer we will get in sooner rather than later.

The Return of Ada Wong?

Adding fuel to the fire, a major leak for Resident Evil Requiem suggests the return of Ada Wong in upcoming content. Given the director's comments about Leon's mysterious spouse, many are wondering if her potential return will finally provide the closure (or confirmation) fans have been waiting for over two decades.

It’s an incredible time to be an RE fan. Whether we’re heading back to the Spencer Mansion or finally getting a glimpse into Leon’s domestic life, Capcom is clearly playing a long, brilliant game.
